The Gemini II Dual Tube Microphone from sE Electronics is designed for crucial capturing of vocals and instruments in professional recording applications and features a unique dual tube design. The sE-Electronics twin triode valves feature a 12AX7 (ECC83) and 12AU7 (ECC82) tubes that provide pristine warmth and detail at the input and output stages of the microphone.
The Gemini II maintains a low noise floor, minimizing the "room noise" associated with most tube microphones. The capsule houses a large diaphragm cardioid element that features a wide 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The cardioid polar pattern is flexible for most applications as it rejects ambiance and noise at the off-axis sections of the capsule. The Gemini II uses an external Power Supply Unit (PSU) and an 3-pin screw-on terminal ensures a secure connection from the microphone to the PSU. A generous 13 foot (4.2 meter) cable is supplied for flexible placement and a heavy duty, wooden storage case is also supplied.
